Los Angeles is getting a new AI film festival.
And this one arrives with a clear ambition:
Move AI filmmaking beyond experimentation.
And toward real cinema.
Just after the SHAIKE Film festival on October 2-3 in the south of France, take a flight to Glendale USA at the historic Alex Theatre for the CLOWD AI Film Festival.
Founded by longtime Hollywood creative executive Curt Doty, the festival positions itself at the intersection of storytelling, creator ownership, and next-generation filmmaking., It will bring together competitions, screenings, panels, industry voices, and community voting around one central idea:
AI filmmaking needs storytellers.
Not just tools.

“The internet is flooded with AI-slop – content following the algo rather than humanity.”
“We believe that while technology currently leads, it will soon be followed by storytellers.” – Curt Doty
And honestly?
That conversation feels increasingly important right now.
Because as AI tools become accessible to everyone, the real difference is no longer access.
It’s vision.
Taste.
Cinema.
Unlike many emerging AI initiatives, CLOWD places strong emphasis on creators, IP protection, professional judging, and audience participation.
The festival will feature:
- Global AI film competition
- Industry panels & screenings
- Public + jury voting
- Creator-focused ecosystem
- Student competition
The event also arrives with strong industry support from partners and advisors across AI filmmaking, entertainment, and creative technology, including ElevenLabs, RAD TV, SHAIKE, and others.
CLOWD officially opens submissions on May 29.
