Second Edition. Higher Standards.
SHAIKE was on the ground as official sponsor of the second edition of the Artefact AI Film Festival, supporting and covering an event that clearly stepped up this year.
Less experimentation for its own sake.
More artistic control.
More narrative ambition.
As Elisha Karmitz, producer at MK2, said during the festival:
“Technique is fading away to highlight the stories. The most interesting and important is what artists have to tell. That’s what we fight for. And in this case, it’s a useful tool.”
AI was no longer the attraction. The films were.
A Prestigious Jury

Presided by Cédric Klapisch, one of France’s most respected filmmakers, the panel brought together directors, producers and industry leaders shaping contemporary cinema.
Among them:
Elisha Karmitz, CEO of mk2
Bruno Patino, President of ARTE France
Paul Trillo, director and visual artist
Ana Girardot, actress
Pierre Zandrowicz, director
Junie Lau and Raphaël Frydman, previous edition winners
A jury that understands film.
Not just technology.
Shaiker Takes the Grand Prix

The Grand Prix was awarded to Mark Wachholz, a SHAIKER, whose film “The Cinema That Never Was” stood out for its narrative strength and artistic maturity.
Seeing a member of the SHAIKE community take the top prize on that stage was more than symbolic. It confirmed what we have been saying for months: AI is no longer about proving the tool works. It is about proving the filmmaker does.
All the other winning films are available on SHAIKE.
