Synopsis
“A thousand years of history, the reincarnation of memory recorded under the moonlight of 2050.”
In the year 2050, everything has been converted into data, and the ‘expiration date’ of relationships has become tragically short. Gyeongju, a city that preserves a millennium of history, has become a stage where cutting-edge technology and ancient traditions coexist in a surreal harmony. Here, an elderly widow lives with a unique companion: an AI robot that serves as a meticulous replica of her late husband’s appearance and memories.
The film calmly follows her daily life with the robot, which perfectly reproduces her husband’s voice, habits, and even his subtle jokes. Between the algorithm-driven tenderness of the robot and the desperate human sincerity that accepts it, the audience is confronted with the question: “What defines a true companion?” This is a story about the one single memory we wish to make ‘Lasting’ in a world where everything else fades away.
