Simon BARET

Simon is a French director specializing in AI-generated filmmaking, with more than 25 years of experience in visual culture. Having moved into AI direction in late 2022, he builds a cinematic language rooted in classical references applied to generative tools to explore the border between synthetic image and embodied storytelling.His music video Grat the Cat won Best Music Video at the AI International Film Festival in Los Angeles, the LA AI Motion Picture Award, an award at IMAGinACTION (Italy) and Silver at the Seoul Global AI Film Festival, with official selections at Cannes, Prague and Sydney.His micro-short Time to Play won Best AI Micro-short at the London AI Festival. Simon was also a finalist at the AI Design Awards in Barcelona in February 2026.He continues to direct short films and experimental projects exploring the new storytelling forms made possible by generative AI.
