Reiwa no Hana is an AI-generated music video about a girl who begins surrounded by traditional Japanese beauty and journeys through seven different worlds of “kawaii.” Through each encounter, she discovers new forms of fashion, color, space, and self-expression, eventually choosing a beauty that feels uniquely her own.
The film explores the idea that beauty does not have a single correct form. Rather than abandoning tradition, the protagonist reconnects it with the things she newly discovers and loves, transforming inherited aesthetics into something personal and contemporary. Japanese visual motifs are combined with styles including Lolita, Gothic, retro, Y2K, Decora, cyber, and street fashion, ultimately merging into a new expression of identity.
I developed the project from concept to final edit, including the original concept, lyrics, narrative structure, world-building, visual direction, selection and refinement of generated imagery and video, and post-production.
Tools: Midjourney for concept art and visual development, Suno AI for music generation, ChatGPT for story development, Codex for key visual creation and workflow integration, Seedance 2 Mini for video generation, and DaVinci Resolve for editing.
Through this work, I aimed to explore how generative AI can connect music, fashion, visual storytelling, and cultural motifs into a single evolving world.
