An AI film by Sebastiano Vitale
In 1915, a teenage boy ran away from the country to New York City,
fell in love with a Spanish knife thrower, and became her human
target. She left. He returned to Iowa, remarried, and built a farm.
Unable to work, unwilling to accept charity, he gathered thirty goats,
and hit the road with a wagon.
He survived suspicion of being a Nazi spy, vandals who killed his
goats, and a mugging that left him with twenty-seven stitches. Tragedy
followed him, but so did devotion—until finally, in 1969, he quit the
road.
Even then, the wandering wasn’t over. At seventy, he vanished to Hollywood.
THE GOAT MAN is the true story of a man who chose the company of
animals over the cruelty of people, and paid the price for it anyway.
