Mygrain is a visceral, experimental exploration of the boundaries between self, physical suffering, and the illusion of reality. Through a blend of raw lyrical intensity and Buddhist-inspired philosophy, the film follows a protagonist’s descent into a state of profound dissociation. The narrative centers on the rejection of pain as a facet of identity. Rather than succumbing to the “demon” of chronic migraine, the protagonist attempts to detach from the ego entirely, viewing life as a pre-determined “film” observed from behind the eyes. As the line between thought and speech begins to blur, the film challenges the viewer to question the nature of free will and the permanence of the self.Themes: Identity dissociation, the illusion of free will, and the transcendence of physical agony.Philosophy: Incorporates concepts of “forgetting knowledge and desire” to experience a fresh, moment-to-moment existence.Atmosphere: A “chameleon-like” journey where the self becomes unrecognizable, shifting through dimensions and questioning the very reality of those around it
