Milwaukee, 1970. A solitary woman sets off on a road trip with a baby boy. At first, it seems like a quiet getaway—a grandmother and her grandson. But as the miles pass, fractured memories begin to surface, strange and unsettling. Doubt creeps in: what if she’s not related to him at all? When she spots a missing child poster with the baby’s face in a supermarket, the illusion shatters. She flees, hiding deep within a forest. The police eventually find the baby, lying peacefully beneath a tree. The woman has vanished. All that remains is an old photograph, drifting down a river—of a young mother, a baby in her arms, and memories slipping quietly out of reach.
