“Where To Be” is a cinematic reflection on memory, time, and belonging. The song, written and performed by Dusty Wright, a veteran figure in the Americana and folk-rock scene, captures a deeply human search for meaning and peace through the lens of nostalgia.
I designed Dusty Wright himself in anime-inspired 2D style, blending his real-life presence with a surreal animated world. Using advanced AI tools — Seedream, NanoBanana for images Hailuo 02, and Veo3 for animation, I transformed old static photographs into motion, recreating the warmth of 1950s–60s film footage. Some images were animated in a vintage stop-motion aesthetic, merging with original 2D animation to create a seamless bridge between memory and imagination.
The result is a hybrid visual poem, where modern AI artistry meets timeless Americana soul — a story that feels both nostalgic and alive.
