The Echo Monastery is a quiet, observational short film that explores the unspoken emotional space between a father and daughter, set against the stillness of the mountains.
The film is built on restraint — where silence carries more weight than dialogue, and presence speaks louder than words. Through minimal movement, controlled framing, and natural light, the story unfolds not through events, but through what remains unsaid. This project was created as part of the LTM x IFFD 2026 AI Filmmaking Hackathon.
The process began with a simple emotional idea, which was gradually shaped into a narrative using AI-assisted writing. Visual development, shot design, and motion were explored through iterative prompting, allowing the film’s tone, lighting, and composition to evolve with each step.
Sound and music were designed to remain almost invisible — supporting the emotion without overtaking it. AI was not used to replace the filmmaking process, but to extend it — acting as a tool to explore, refine, and visualize an already existing human emotion.
