O Berço Vazio (The Empty Cradle) is a psychological horror short film that explores grief, silence, and the instability of perception. After a traumatic loss, Clara remains isolated inside her home — a space that gradually begins to mirror her emotional deterioration. Shadows seem to stretch beyond the logic of light, rooms subtly transform, and the empty cradle becomes an oppressive presence.
The narrative builds tension through silence, repetition, and suggestion, examining the fragile boundary between reality and the mind. The film addresses postpartum depression not through exposition, but through a sensory and atmospheric language in which physical space becomes an extension of the protagonist’s psychological state.
With a minimalist aesthetic and intimate approach, the work uses contrasts of light and shadow, organic sound design, and restrained pacing to create an immersive experience. The house ceases to be merely a setting and becomes a living organism — pulsing, reacting, observing.
