Mario Orías

Mario Orias is a Venezuelan-born filmmaker based in Berlin, working at the intersection of cinema, narrative, culture, and generative imagination. With over 15 years of experience in film editing, color grading, and visual storytelling, he has worked across fiction, documentary, television, theatrical, and digital productions. Today, he combines his post-production background with generative AI technologies to explore new forms of cinematic expression while keeping story, emotion, and human experience at the core. His latest film, Beyond the Visible: Hilma af Klint, was selected among The New York Times’ Best Films of 2020. His screenplay Permutation won the first edition of UGBB and was a finalist at the 36th Interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival.
